Mike Bauer Wonders:

1.  Who remembers towing the car hood through the snowy ditches behind the car?

2.  Who owned the tobaggan that we ripped the runners off?

3.  Who was Don Olson's opponent in the mayors race?

If you've got the answers, send them to us via "contact us".

Joe Trapp:  Loved those car hood rides (If my kids would have done that, they would have been grounded until adulthood).
"Jim Dandy To The Rescue" was the song Jim Mandery used as his campaign song running against Don Olson who was the candidate of the "Olecrat" party.
My Dad came up with the name for the party.

Class Reunion Pictures

Now that Merle Carter has provided the "official" Class Reunion pictures, please send me any comments you'd like to make about any of the reunions.  I'll add them to the appropriate year.

Suggestions for getting more class members to submit bio's and current pictures

1.  If they don't, make them chairperson of the next reunion planning committee.
2.  If they don't, provide their email address to every credit card company in America.
3.  If they don't, take their name off the government's "do not call" list.
4.  If they don't, write a fictitious bio for them and tell the world about that infamous "unsolved crime" that took place in the sixties.

Obviously, these are not very good ideas, but we would like to get more participation with bio's and current pictures.

Icons of the 50's

We'll soon be adding a new section to our website - Icons of the 50's.  Not just any icon, mind you, but those nearest and dearest to the Class of 57.  Tonys, Lahti's Clothing Store, the Popcorn Stand, Couch's Lunch Counter, Teen Center, Sycamore Bowl, etc.

Information and pictures are not easy to come by, but we're getting some leads and will put them on the site as we get them.  Drop me an email in the "contact us" section if you have an icon that you'd like us to get information on and post on the site.

Pictures and News Clippings

Carolyn (Carlson) Burns has provided several pictures and news clippings that will be appearing on our website in the near future.  I'd like to encourage all of you to send me pictures or clippings of "historical interest" to the Class of 57.  These are a big part of what makes the site worth reading.

Joe Trapp to Sue Clemson

Yes, Sue.  There will be a 55th reunion!

Carolyn's Class Challenge

In our "Sycamore Memories" section, you'll find "Carolyn's Class Challenge".  Carolyn (Carlson) Burns has collected a significant amount of trivia on downtown Sycamore in the 50's, and you'll find a few trivia questions in this section.  Use the "contact us" section to submit your answers.

Don't forget, those of us in our 70's are supposed to be able to remember everything that occurred fifty years ago, even though we can't remember the name of the person we met yesterday.

We'll see who comes up with the most correct answers!

Class bio's

We now have bio's on the website for over half of our living class members (31 of 59).  Is 100% a possibility?

Prizes Offerred for Correct Answers

Carolyn (Carlson) Burns has now offerred prizes for the correct answers to Carolyn's Class Challenge.  Any classmate coming up with a correct answer to any of these questions will receive a coupon redeemable for a bag of popcorn from the Little Red Popcorn Stand at our 55th Class Reunion.
